Molluscs of the Mazák National Natural Reserve (Moravian-Silesian
Beskydy Mts., Czech Republic)
Jiří Kupka
The Mazák National Natural Reserve provides suitable habitat conditions for many rare and endangered animals which are limited to low-disturbed or near-natural ecosystems. The malacofauna of the Mazák NNR was studied in 2012. Altogether, 37 species (35 land and 2 freshwater snails) were recorded. Two endangered species are interesting from ecological and faunal point of view: Vitrea transsylvanica and Eucobresia nivalis.
