Luboš R. Kolouch

A small pond “Kosinův rybník” (faunistic square of the mapping grid system: 5861c) is situated between towns of Hradec Králové and Pardubice. Unusually big specimens of Duck (or Common Pond) Mussel, Anodonta anatina, live in this pond. The measurements of mussels are: length 90–163 mm (ø 129 mm), height 55–82 mm (ø 70 mm), thickness 36–60 mm (ø 47 mm), rotundity (N = 50 * thickness / height) 31–38 % (ø 34 %).
