Revizní průzkum vodních měkkýšů Moravské Dyje
Revision survey of aquatic molluscs of the Moravská Dyje
Luboš Beran
The Moravská Dyje is a smaller river in the Czech Republic and Austria, which is one of two sources of the river Dyje. During surveys in 2022 and 2024, 21 species of aquatic molluscs (13 gastropods and 8 bivalves) were found at 31 sites in the Czech part of this river. Notable finds include the populations of Unio crassus sensu lato (U. crassus sensu stricto and U. nanus), the species of European importance. A large population was found in the lower section of the river Moravská Dyje on the border with Austria. It can be assumed that the main part of the population occurs in the Austrian part of the Moravská Dyje (Mährische Thaya).
